Joyner Maternity Session

Steven and Melissa’s session was originally setup as a surprise by Steven’s sister, Taylor. The surprise didn’t last long however, and instead they spilled the beans to make sure she was comfortable with shooting becauseeeee….her shoot was planned for FOUR DAYS before being induced. No pressure. We met with Steven and Melissa at Starbucks and went over exactly how they envisioned their maternity session. From the get-go it sounded like a dream! They are such a sweet, caring, straight to the point couple and we loved hearing all about the excitement of welcoming their very first baby girl!

Melissa really loved the idea of First Landing State Park because it has many diverse options for backgrounds. When we asked them what feel they were going for Melissa said “ We want these pictures to be me and him and a baby bump.” Now y’all know we love to primp and style but how can you not swoon over that simple, lovely explanation, needless to say, we were in!

As mentioned before, Melissa was scheduled to be induced a short 4 days after our shoot so we were all crossing our fingers that the weather was pretty and that Melissa and her bump were feeling up for pictures! The day came and it was gorgeous! This was a few days after all the crazy tornado weather and the entire evening was absolutely magical! Melissa was SUCH a trooper, ducking through trees and trekking through sand, all while nine months pregnant! Steven was such a sweetheart, making sure she was safe and feeling alright the entire time, y’all this session was truly a spectacular.

From beginning to end we were all so comfortable and laughing as these two lovebirds basked in what would be their last few days as a pair instead of a trio! Steven and Melissa, we are so happy we could capture this sweet milestone for you both and we are even more happy that baby Ava Nicole arrived safe and on time as planned! Cheers to your sweet little family!
